Survivours of Domestic and Sexual Violence offenses deserve to be treated delicately with empathy at every stage of a criminal process in the pursuit of justice so as to overcome the trauma of the crime.
This formed the basis for training for judges and magistrates in Lagos State with the aim of addressing easy access to Justice and faster Justice delivery.

The Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, DSVA charged with the mandates to provide support to survivors in Lagos is reaching out to the Judiciary by providing judicial officers with insights on the latest strength in hearing such cases in court.
The organisers say the training will assist in creating a formidable legal framework to help in abating the rate of Domestic and Sexual related crimes in the state.
In his remark, Chief Judge of Lagos State, Kazeem Alogba said the major problems confronting the proper prosecution of such offenses are getting people to come out to reports, accepting to pursue the case to a logical conclusion and the fear of what happens thereafter.
He added that the Society needs to be more progressive in dealing with people who have been so abused.
To further guide the judges and magistrates on their sensitive roles, they are trained on understanding the psychology of
abusers and how they can provide survival-centered Justice within the existing state structures.
It is expected that this forum will create better Synergy to tackle the Menace of domestic and sexual violence in the society.
