The United Kingdom High Commission in Nigeria has donated a PCR machine to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control in support of the fight against covid-19.
The move will increase the testing capacity in Lagos, which is the epicentre of the pandemic in Nigeria.
The Central Public Health Laboratory of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, located in Yaba, Lagos is one of the centres where Coronavirus tests are conducted in Nigeria.
With strict adherence to safety guidelines during a pandemic, the Director-General of NCDC, the Country Officer of WHO, as well as UK High Commissioner to Nigeria, took a tour of the facilities.
In an exclusive chat with TVC News, the the NCDC DG reacted to how some state governments are managing the pandemic.
When asked about the possibility of a synergy between the federal and state governments on joint management of the coronavirus pandemic, the DG spoke on increased testing capacity and how the centre has been managing the situation.
