President Muhammadu Buhari has presided over the Federal Executive Council meeting, the first for the year.
In attendance were Vice president Yemi Osinbajo and almost all cabinet ministers.
Aviation Minister, Hadi Sirika, disclosed at the end of the FEC meeting that the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja would be closed for six weeks to allow for repair works on the runway.
And according to Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Danbazzau, Council approved more than 4 billion Naira for the purchase of firefighting equipment for the service nationwide.
