More than 22,000 Soyabean farmers in Taraba state are to benefit from a 500 Million Naira soft loan under the accelerated soyabeans production programme of the Ishaku administration.
Taraba state Governor, Darius Ishaku disclosed this at the flag off of the distribution of farm inputs and seedlings for the 2020 farming season to Soya Bean farmers.
The governor who was represented by his Commissioner for Agriculture, David Ishaya at the programme. The governor explained the initiative is meant to tackle poverty by creating wealth for farmers.
The Soya Beans farmers commended the government for the initiative.
The beneficiaries were elated by the government’s support, saying, guranteed market has been the bane for soya beans farming.
Taraba State Government is expected to produce at least 60, 000 metric tonnes of soya beans in one year under the large scale soya beans production programme.
The Ishaku administration has invested a lot on agriculture and is confident it will translate to the state becoming the food centre of the nation.
