The Senate says it has put all power struggles for leadership positions behind it, following the appointment of Ahmad Lawan as Senate Leader.
The leadership of the majority APC and minority PDP disclosed this at Thursday’s plenary where Senator Lawan used the opportunity to set an agenda for the business of lawmaking during his tenure.

But at Thursday’s plenary, he decided to break his silence and thank his colleagues, declaring that all hostile actions towards the Bukola Saraki-led body of principal officers had ended.
Senator Lawan says he hopes to work for the benefit of all senators and will coordinate all executive communication smoothly to deliver on the promises made to Nigerians by the APC government in power.
Senators across political divides used the opportunity to wish Lawan a successful tenure as Senate Leader even as they wished him a Happy Birthday which coincidentally fell on this day.
