The conciliatory meeting between the federal government and the Joint Health Sector Unions ended in a deadlock.
Whereas the government delegation sought an affirmative response of strike suspension from the union union, the labour leaders insisted they must convene the National Executive Council meeting before a decision could be taken.
The union declined to sign the drafted Memorandum of Understanding, insisting it will take it to its members for their final position.
In the memorandum of terms of settlement, parties observed that although N126 billion has been appropriated in the 2020 COVID-19 Interventio Appropriation Intervention Act for infrastructure upgrading ad equipment for the health sector, lack of effective communication was responsible for the unions not to appreciate the degree of investments.
The government also insisted the issue of withheld two months salaries is a subject of ligation the meeting could not dabble into.
