Kano State Police Command says it has arrested a 26-year-old woman who was alleged to have attacked and killed her two biological children.
The deceased children, a male of 6 years and a female of 3 years, and their nephew a female of 10 years who was wounded and fled to an undisclosed location fell into the arms of their mother a few days after an attempt by their father to marry a new wife.
According to a statement issued by the Kano Police Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Haruna, the victims were rushed to a medical facility by some detectives who upon hearing the report rushed to the scene.
On preliminary investigations, the suspect confessed to have locked up their house and used Machete and Aluminium made Pestle, to attack the three helpless children, causing severe injuries on different parts of their bodies where the quick intervention of the Police saved one who later relived the horrific story.
The case according to the police spokesman has been transferred to the criminal investigation department for further action.
