The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar has promised to make life comfortable for Nigerians, if he is elected president of Nigeria in 2023.
Atiku made the promise at the flag-off of the PDP campaign in Akure, the Ondo state capital.
The MKO Abiola Democracy Park, Akure, venue of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP presidential rally for Ondo State, came alive as supporters of the party trooped out in their numbers to be part of the event.
The PDP rally was attended by party chieftains at the state and national levels.
It was a day of speeches, as PDP stalwarts mounted the podium.
Their speeches were laced with words of promise and assurance to citizens.
The party’s 2023 presidential flagbearer, Atiku Abubakar said the PDP is determined to transform the country, if given another chance to rule.
Atiku expressed optimism that the PDP will emerge victorious at the end of the elections.
The rally was attended by members of the party from the eighteen local government areas of the state.
The emergence of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party has created a major schism in the party with the Former Governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, conspicuously absent at the rally to present its candidate in Ondo State.
Dr Mimiko, who was governor of Ondo State between 2009 to 2017 has joined up with the newly created Integrity Group within the Peoples Democratic Party which is led by the five Governors Led By Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and included Governors of Oyo, Seyi Makinde, Abia, Okezie Ikpeazu, Enugu, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and Samuel Ortom of Benue State.
There main demand is the resignation of the National Chairman of the party, Dr Iyorchia Ayu, over the alleged non-transparency of processes within the party and broken promises.
