Chuba Akpom remains a transfer target of Championship side, Aston Villa for a move this January, the Birmingham Mail has reported.
The 21-year-old, who is eligible to play for Nigeria, has found playing time hard to come by at Arsenal, playing just 83 minutes for Arsene Wenger’s side so far this season.
Akpom played under current Villa manager, Steve Bruce during their time with Hull City and helped the Tigers gain promotion to the premier league with the Gunners forward making 41 appearances.
However, Arsene Wenger still holds the player in high regards and will only sanction a loan move for him away from the Emirates this January.
Bruce is desperate to add Akpom to the Aston Villa ranks after Middlesbrough rejected a £6million offer forward Jordan Rhodes last week.
