Several bandits have been reportedly neutralized by troops of the Nigerian Army in Kaduna state.
This was said to have happened during a clearance operations around Idasu, Fatika and Makera forests in Giwa local government areas of the state.
The state’s Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs Samuel Aruwan on Tuesday revealed that many bandits were confirmed neutralized while others were lucky to escape with gunshot injuries.
The Kaduna State Government has commended the troops for the success of the operation and charged them to intensify campaigns against the terrorists.
They also appeal to citizens in these general areas to report suspicious individuals seeking medical attention for gunshot injuries to the security operations room.
The Statement Reads in Part “According to the report, many bandits have been confirmed neutralised so far, while others still fled with gunshot injuries to the Hayin Siddi area around the interstate boundaries.
“The Kaduna State Government noted the report with satisfaction, and has commended the troops heartily for the success, while urging them on to further breakthroughs.
“The Government appeals to citizens in these general area to report suspicious individuals seeking medical attention for gunshot injuries to the security operations room on the phone lines 09034000060 and 08170189999.
“Offensives in the general area are in progress, and citizens will be updated on further developments.”
The Kaduna State Government has faced the Security challenges bedevilling the State headlong with the creation of an internal Security ministry headed by Samuel Aruwan, who was the personal aide to the State governor Nasir El-Rufai until his appointment.
Series of measures have also been put in place to ensure that the security situation improves including Special Military Operations and Airstrikes by the Nigerian Airforce.
This latest operation will be a morale booster to the residents of Kaduna State that the State government is taking steps to ensure their safety.
