The Lagos State Government on Tuesday made submissions at the Federal High Court, Lagos division that the Executive Order restricting the use of Motorcycle and Tricycles is in accordance with the Law.
Lawyer, Olukoya Ogungbeje had filed a Fundamental Human Rights’ application before the Federal High Court, Ikoyi seeking to challenge the executive order of Governor Babajide Sanwo- Olu, which restricts the use of motorcycles and tricycles to 6 Local Government Areas and 9 Local Council Development Areas.
The Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Moyosore Onigbanjo SAN, who appeared for the State Government before Justice Mohammed Liman argued his notice of preliminary objection in opposition to Mr Ogungbeje’s originating summons.
The AG urged the court to dismiss the application, saying the restriction of Motorcycles and Tricycles on major roads in the State is in line with the provisions of the Transport Sector Reform Law, 2018.
Justice Liman has reserved judgment till Wednesday, February the 3rd, 2021.
