Police in Zamfara state have recovered a Honda Hennessey vehicle obtained by fraud and arrested two conspirators while the prime suspect is at large.
The vehicle was purchased by one Ahmad Sani at the cost of five hundred and seventy thousand naira and was paid with a fake bank credit alert after paying through an Electronic Bank transfer.
Spokesperson of the Zamfara state Police Command said the car dealer realised the bank account was fake and quickly reported to the police.
According to him, the vehicle was intercepted along Gusau/Futua road in Yankara village of Katsina State after the prime suspect handed the vehicle to one of his conspirators to drive down to Kano State.
Police authorities add that the vehicle was intercepted by personnel of the 42 PMF unit of the force.
The suspects who have denied involvement in the act said they are private drivers and were hired by the prime suspect to drive the vehicle to Kano at the cost of six thousand naira.
The police however said efforts are ongoing in connection with the two conspirators to arrest the prime suspect.
They also warned the public to be wary of fraudsters especially making payment through electronic banking.
