The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State has concluded its governorship campaigns to local governments at a grand finale in Lafia, the capital of the state.
Leaders of the party who spoke at the rally, want the electorates to return governor Abdullahi Sule to power for continuity.
It’s a triumphant entry into the Lafia square for the grand finale of the statewide local government campaign.
Governor Abdullahi Sule and other party juggernauts were ushered into the arena amidst jubilation and cheers from the mammoth crowd.
The governor is confident that with the level of support received across the local governments, his party will coast to victory at the polls.
The former governor of the state, Tanko Al-makura wants the electorate to obtain theirs PVCs and reelect the governor for continuity.
Political leaders from Lafia local government declare their support for the governor given his developmental strides in the state.
Candidates of the party were issued with a flag as a sign of recognition.
The campaign train also visited Awe, Doma, Obi and Keana local governments in the southern parts of the state.
Statewide campaigns to development areas will begin in January.
Nasarawa State has had 4 Governors since the return of Democracy in 1999 with current APC National Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Adamu the first governor till 2007 when he handed over to late Aliyu Akwe Doma who was succeeded by Tanko Al Makura who also handed over to current governor Abdullahi Sule an Engineer.
Governor Sule is backed for re-election by all his predecessors except Aliyu Akwe Doma who is dead.
Nasarawa State due to its proximity to the Federal Capital Territory is one of those States many expected to gain from it in terms of Investment, Development and Economy.
The All Progressives Congress faces a strong challenge from the Peoples Democratic Party in the State.
