An Akure high Court has granted the vice chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Professor Adebiyi Daramola and the institution’s bursar, Oresegun Emmanuel bail in the sum of ten million naira and two sureties in like sum.
In his ruling in an oral application filed by the counsel to the Vice Chancellor, Justice Ademola Bola said the two persons be remanded at the state intelligent investigation bureau (SIIB) office pending the perfection of their bail conditions.
The two sureties to be provided by the suspects must be professors from the institution or civil servants of grade level seventeen and above .
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC had filed a nine count charge against the Vice Chancellor and bursar ranging from abuse of office, conspiracy, obtaining by false pretense amongst others.
The case has been adjourned until March the 20th, 21st and 22nd for further hearing.
