The Women Forum of the Nigerian Bar Association has urged all women especially female lawyers in the country to commit to ensuring gender equality and work assiduously to promote gender diversity in the society.
The call is in commemoration of the 2021 International Women’s Day and the Women’s history month.
Speakers at the event which was both virtual and physical say the ability of women to challenge the stereotype of gender bias and the reinforcing of diversity and inclusion has led to the rise of women in leadership positions in both public and private sectors.
They also charge women to choose to challenge the current status-quo in other to address areas of necessary improvement such as diversity in the profession, stereotypes, representation in governance, and growth acceleration for young female lawyers.
