The conciliatory meeting brokered by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, ended about midnight on Wednesday.
Although, the meeting made far reaching decisions which led to a new memorandum of action, the Resident doctors insist the planned strike kicks off from 8am today.
The Minister who spoke at the end of the meeting, said the Government was waiting for the resident doctors to hold their meeting and revert on their decision.
But NARD President, Uyilawa Okhuaihesuyi did not confirm or deny the Minister’s submission.
In a chat with the TVC News Thursday morning, he said his members would meet to review the gains and losses of the meeting before coming out with a decision. But in the meantime, he says the planned nationwide strike commences at 8.00 this morning.
