To promote female gender participation in mining activities in Nigeria, the women in mining group has organised a three-day capacity building seminar for female miners in Bauchi state.
Participants acquired new knowledge on safe and sustainable mining.

Women representatives of various mining communities in Bauchi gathered at the invitation of the women in mining group, a non-profit and non-political organisation.
The group focuses on women advancement by empowering them to engage in a safe and sustainable mining practices in Nigeria.
Bauchi state is said to be richly endowed with mineral resources in commercial quantity which is why the group has set up this training for the women participants.
Research has it that most women in the mining sector suffer a lot of abuse of their rights by their male counterparts while doing the business.
The three day seminar is centered on capacity building, health and safety, sustainability, good and inclusive governance, economic integration of women through digitisation into metal Market as well as promotion of responsible mining.
The forum is also targeted at ensuring gender justice in the country’s mainstream solid mineral sector.
