Several people have been reportedly killed by armed terrorists who invaded Malagum and Sokwong villages in Kaura local Government area of Kaduna state.
The incident was said to have happed on Sunday night at about 11 pm.
Although no official casualty figure has been given by the Kaduna state security authorities or the Police, The Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) in a statement on Monday say over 38 corpses of slain victims have been recovered.
It was gathered that the houses of the villagers were also razed by the rampaging gunmen.
Meanwhile, Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has condemned the attack on the two communities in the Kaura Local Government Area.
In a statement by his Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, the governor described the attacks as inhuman, considering the efforts of the government, security forces, the traditional institution and other critical stakeholders within the last week.
He also condoled the people of Malagum and Sokwong communities where attacks occurred, and prayed for the repose of the souls of those killed.
Governor Nasir El-Rufai directed the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to urgently provide relief materials to the communities, adding that an urgent security intervention is being conducted by the Defence Headquarters Operation Safe Haven.
This is another setback for the efforts of the Kaduna State Government in securing the State from Bandits attacks.
The State has been under constant attacks from Bandits/Terrorists coalition especially in Southern Kaduna and the Birnin Gwari area of the State.
The attacks have also affected major Military Institutions like the Nigerian Defence Academy where some personnel of the Nigerian Military were abducted.
The Bandits/Terrorists coalition have also succeeded in attacking the Kaduna International Airport killing two personnel of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, NAMA.
The Bandits/Terrorists coalition have also succeeded in attacking the Abuja-Kaduna Passenger Train Service killing 8 passengers and abducting several Others while also receiving ransom for the Freedom of their victims.
The Passenger service just resumed a week ago after an hiatus of over 8 Months.
