The Federal Executive Council has approved N13.3 billion for the provision of group life assurance scheme for the Nigerian Police Force.
Minister of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi disclosed this to State House Correspondents at the end of Wednesday’s meeting of the Council, chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari.
He said the scheme would cover 318, 319 police officers and men, for the year 2022-2023.
The essence of the group life assurance scheme, according to Dingyadi, is to encourage the police officers and men who have been working hard to protect the security of lives and property around the country.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, expressed regret over an incident in Zamfara State in which Nigerian Airforce soldiers mistakenly killed some innocent residents while hunting criminals.
