There is palpable fear in some areas in Osogbo as suspected internet fraudsters also known as “Yahoo boys” thronged some major streets protesting against the arrest of some of their colleagues by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Offence Commission, EFCC.
TVC News gathered that the EFCC operatives had come into the state capital to make the arrest and also take away their vehicles but were waylaid on their way out after arresting some suspects and seized about 20 exotic cars.
The Suspected internet fraudsters later set burnfires in different places to register their grievances.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola confirmed the incident with an assurance that police is doing all within its power to prevent the situation from further escalation.
As at the time of filling this report, the suspected internet fraudsters are currently at the Nelson Mandela Freedom park protesting against the arrest of their colleagues.
