Edo APC Assures Tinubu of victory in 2023 Elections

In preparation for the forthcoming 2023 elections, former deputy governor of Edo State, Dr. Pius Odubu, has reassured the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Ahmed Bola Tinubu of an overwhelming Victory in the state.

The former deputy governor gave the assurance when he inaugurated Tinubu/Shettima Grassroot Independent Campaign Council, ICC, in Benin , the capital city….

Dr. Odubu who said Edo State was ready to correct past mistakes by voting for APC candidates from the presidency to national assembly, urged the ICC excos inaugurated to work assiduously in making sure the party candidates at all levels win

The National Deputy Coordinator, South, ICC, Akin Awodeyi, said with the calibre of persons inaugurated, he is optimistic that they will deliver Edo for Tinubu and other candidates of the APC.

Dr Pius Odubu was Deputy governor of Edo State under the administration of Comrade Adams Oshimhole from 2008 to 2016 before the emergence of Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki and Philip Shuaibu as Governor and Deputy Governor.

Both were elected under the platform of the All Progressives Congress but later defected to the Peoples Democratic Party in the period leading up to the 2020 re-election bid of Godwin Obaseki.

The Governor was later re-elected while his predecessor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, also lost his position as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress on the intrigues that pervaded the period.

The mistakes the former deputy governor may be referring to also emanated from the 2020 Edo State Governorship Election and the 2019 Elections which saw the ruling party the All Progressives Congress to lose ground in the State to the Opposition Peoples Democratic Party and the subsequent defeat of its candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, in the 2020 Governorship Election in Edo State.

The 2023 Elections promises to be keenly contested in the State despite it being currently ruled by the Peoples Democratic Party due to the seeming belief that the current government has not done well enough and the presence of many big wigs like former Governor Adams Oshiomhole himself on the ballot as a candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the Edo North Senatorial District currently occupied by Francis Alimkhena who is flying the flag of the Peoples Democratic Party.
