President Muhammadu Buhari says Until his last day in office, he will continue to provide political and material support to sub-national governments, the Armed Forces, institutions and individuals working wholeheartedly for the peace, unity, stability and progress of Nigeria.
The president disclosed this in a special Christmas message to Nigerians, he said this year’s celebration is unique as it will be his last as elected President, because Twenty-two weeks from now, his administration will hand over to another.
He urged Nigerians to come together to rejoice and set aside all differences as they look forward to this festive season as a time to travel, share gifts, spend quality time with family and friends, attend special carols and events, and generally relive the good moments of the year.
The president says in this season of love, joy and peace, Nigerians should remember those who really wish to celebrate but are constrained in one way or the other by reaching out to them.
He encouraged Nigerians to renew their pledge and common resolve to work for the unity and prosperity of the country.
President Buhari says as the joyous season coincides with the period of campaigns to usher in a new administration, he urge citizens to be circumspect and vote for those that will maintain the momentum his administration has created for the greater good of the country.
President Muhammadu Buhari a former Military Head of State is into the last few months of his administration’s second and final term having been elected in 2015 under the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
He had contested for the Office of President of Nigeria since 2003 and lost all the elections until the merger of various opposition parties like the Action Congress of Nigeria, the Congress for Progressives Change, the All Nigerian Peoples Party, elements of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, the New PDP and Others.
The merger which became the All Progressives Congress was on whose platform and popular support he was propelled into office.
