The Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun has said that Nigeria’s huge population of youth is the nation’s economic mainstay and not oil as many would say.
The Governor made this known while delivering speech at the fourth Convocation of the Mountain Top University.
Nigerian youth have been described as an asset that can further project the image of the country positively and boost the economy, if properly managed.
Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun made this known while speaking at the Fourth convocation of the Mountain top University.
He noted that Nigerian youth are knowledgeable, vibrant and have indomitable spirit.
He said though the nation is blessed with abundant oil, solid minerals and other natural resources, Nigeria’s wealth resides with the youths.
The governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who was represented at the occasion, said the Institution had made tremendous contributions to manpower development in the country and urged the graduands to engage in solving problems and not to be job seekers.
The Chancellor of the Institution while congratulating the graduands, noted that the school was set up to provide an all round education that would make its products compete favourably anywhere in the world.
Highpoint of the event was the presentation of two million naira to the best graduating student, who is from the department of Biological Sciences.
The MountatinTop University belongs to the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry and has been inexistence for a few years now.
It follows in the tradition and example already set by Other Faith based organisations Like the Redeemed Christian Church of God and the Winners Chapel who both boats of Universities in Lagos, Ogun and Kwara States.
The Nasrullahi Fathi Society of Nigeria and the Ansarudeen Society too also have Universities in Osun and Kwara State.
Ogun State has the highest number of Universities in Nigeria currently and is projected to have more soon.
