A member of the federal house of representatives, Abdulganiyu Cook-Olododo has hinted that President Mohammadu Buhari will soon assent to the bill for the establishment of the Federal Medical Centre, Fufu, Ilorin south local government area of Kwara state.
He disclosed this at the 15th empowerment programme held for 730 of his constituents in Ilorin.

Speaking at the event the lawmaker who made his entrance into the arena on a horseback reminded his constituents that when he went around in 2019 to consult prior to the elections he found out that there were a lot of bodied men and women who if empowered would improve on their own lives and also impact positively on the society.
He said this prompted him to take training and skill acquisition of his people his priority and so far, he has delivered on his promises as he has empowered thousands of his constituency.
It’s the 15th edition of his empowerment programme with 730 beneficiaries across the 23 wards that constitute Ilorin East and Ilorin South federal constituency.
Items such as industrial sewing machines, power generating sets, deep freezers, grinding machines, ICT equipment and other items were distributed to make beneficiaries self reliant.
Mr Cook Olododo expressed optimism that the president will soon assent to the bill for the establishment of the federal medical centre, Fufu.
The lawmaker noted that his constituency would be a better place if his predecessors had empowered the people stressing that the people must be gainfully engaged to make reasonable contributions to the growth and development of the constituency.
Alhaji Abdulganiyu Cook-Olododo also described women and youths as critical stakeholders in society. In his words, “We believe that if a woman is empowered, a generation is empowered and if a youth is empowered, our future as a people is collectively secured.”
In spite of change in party, the politician still fancies his chances of returning to the house of representatives.
He still plans to hold another empowerment programme in January.
