The attack on the people of Igangan in Ibarapa local government, Oyo state has been confirmed by the Oyo state police command.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, on Saturday around 2310hrs, an unknown number of assailants with dangerous weapons invaded Igangan town in an attempt to cause unrest.
He noted that the suspected gunmen were however repelled by a combination of Operational and tactical assets immediately deployed to the scene to restore normalcy.

He said the situation is being closely monitored and comprehensive investigations are ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators.
