Some residents of Oba- Ile area of Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo state have protested against what they labelled as outrageous estimated billing issued to them by the management Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC)
Armed with placards with different inscriptions, the aggrieved residents, said they are tired of extortion from the electricity provider
They barricaded the entrance to the BEDC business district office in Akure, chanting solidarity songs.
They lamented that despite supplying polls and cables to provide electricity for themselves, the management of BEDC still come up with exorbitant bills.

They therefore asked BEDC management to provide prepaid meters in the different houses in the community.
