Labour leaders are applauding the recent payment of a month salary to workers in the Ondo state public service. Many of them describe Governor Rotimi Akeredolu as a promise-keeper, who will take the sunshine state to greater heights.
Oluwarotimi Akeredolu took over the reins of power in Ondo state on February, 24 with a promise to take the state to an enviable height.
At the well attended ceremony, Governor Akeredolu vowed to make people’s welfare his priority.
Two weeks after his inauguration, the governor has started fulfilling some of his promises to people of the state.
This the governor demonstrated with prompt payment of February salary to workers in the state public service.
It is coming with an assurance that the six months salary arrears owed the workforce by the immediate past government will be paid in due course.
This step has been applauded by many residents of the state, including artisans, market women and other stakeholders.
They described the governor as a promise keeper.
Labour leaders in the state are also impressed with the steps being taken by the Governor.
Residents, particularly civil servants can now look forward to a better deal, under the new government.
