Niger State has secured two trophies from the just concluded National Festival of Arts and Culture held in Ekiti State.
The State also received three certificates one for participation, the second for actively contributing to the event while the third in dancing competition.
Receiving the awards at the Government House Minna, Governor Abubakar Sani Bello appreciated the state contingent to Ekiti for making the state proud.
He promised to continue to provide the needed support to all Ministries so as to bring about more success stories to the state.
The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mrs. Rifkatu Adamu Chidawa explained that 30 States competed in 12 events out of which Niger State participated in seven.
She said the two trophies the State won are for coming top in Entrepreneurship and Local Fabric as well as Cuisine presentation.
Mrs. Chidawa said the major challenges faced by the state contingent are inadequate funding and poor preparations by the Gwape troupe which she affirmed that it is being addressed by the Governor.
She also disclosed that the World Bank has already taken over Ladi Kwali Pottery Centre in Suleja for total overhauling for optimal performance.
