The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG has started an indefinite strike over a number of issues.
One of those is what it describes as the poor working conditions of petroleum workers.
NUPENG is also unhappy with the state of refineries in Nigeria, as well as the politics involved in the passage of the Petroleum Industry Bill, PIB.
TVC News’ Correspondent Tolulope Ogunjobi who is monitoring the level of compliance of the strike, reports that tankers drivers were seen in groups discussing issues relating to the industrial action. They vowed not to return to work until their demands were met.
