Governor of Anambra state, Chukwuma Soludo, has submitted a list of 20 commissioner nominees to the state House of Assembly for approval.
Speaker of the House, Uche Okafor revealed this during plenary on Tuesday while presenting a letter from Soludo dated March 28, 2022, as well as another letter from the governor demanding the ratification of 15 special adviser nominations
However, he submitted the names to the House of Assembly Screening Committee, which is chaired by Deputy Speaker Paschal Agbodike, and urged them to speed up the screening process and report back accordingly.
He revealed that the commissioner nominees are: Ifeatu Onejeme, Finance; Prof. Ofonze Amucheazi, Lands; Ifeanyi Okoma, Works and Infrastructure; Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake, Budget and Economic Planning; Dr. Afam Obidike, Health; Patrick Agha, Youth Development; and Mrs. Ifeyinwa Obinabo (Women and Social Welfare).
Other nomineed are: Dr. Obinna Ngonadi (Commerce and Industry); Julius Chukwuemeka (Power and Water Resources); Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh (Education); Paul Nwosu (Information); Dr. Forester Ihejiofor (Agriculture) and Patricia Igwebuike (Transport).
Others include, Felix Odimegwu (Environment); Chikodi Anara (Homeland Affairs); Prof. Sylvia Ifemeje (Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice); Collins Nwabunwanne (Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs); Donatus Onyeji (Culture, Entertainment and Tourism); Anthony Ifeanya, Petroleum and Mineral Resources and Paulinus Onyeka (Housing).
