Zamfara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governorship campaigns ahead of the fast approaching 2023 general elections stormed Gummi Local Government area.
The campaign train is expected to visit Bukkuyum and Anka LGAs on Sunday
Our Correspondent reports that thousands of party faithful, Supporters and well wishers came out in their large number to receive the Campaign train led by its Governorship Candidate, Dr. Dauda Lawal and other party chieftains
They were received by residents of all Communities along the Anka – Bukkuyum – Gummi road
Women, youth, children and the aged were carrying placards and banners with various inscription showing their Supporter for the PDP and all it’s Candidates
Addressing the mammoth crowd of party supporters who thronged the campaign rally, the PDP Governorship Hopeful Dauda Lawal Dare assured them that he and other candidates vying for various positions will never disappoint the people if elected
He said the rousing reception that was given the campaign team in Gummi and other local government areas earlier visited was an indication of the party’s acceptability and impending victory at the polls
Dr. Dauda particularly pointed out that his Administration if emerged will give priority to Security, Agriculture, Economy, Healthcare, Education and empowerment
The Zamfara Governorship Hopeful adds that he will settle all outstanding tuition fees of Zamfara indigenes studying abroad on State Government scholarship which the current Governor Bello Matawalle and his Government failed to pay , which had forced the school authorities to sent Zamfara students packing.
He described the development as unfortunate and a slap on a Government which promises to help it’s people
Also on Security and Economy, the PDP Governorship Candidate says he would ensure protection of lives and property of all citizens which has hiterto affected Communities and their economy
He noted that the economic blueprint of his Government if elected will focus at strengthening security and agricultural productivity to boost the economy and increase Internal Revenue generation.
Dr. Dauda thanked the people for their commitment and assurances to continue to support him and other PDP candidates in all elective positions.

Gov. Matawalle Suspend Campaign Over Auto Crash That Claimed Eight Lives Along Gummi – Bukkuyum Road.
Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara state has suspended his campaign rally in Bukkuyum Local Government Area of the state over the death of eight persons in a ghastly motor accident
Among the deceased was a groom who got married same day and we’re travelling from Gummi to Bukkuyum local government for an even as part of the wedding ceremony
They died when three vehicles were involved in a head-on collusion killing eight Persons at the spot
Zamfara State Governor Matawalle who attended his re- Election Campaign in Gummi LGA same Thursday was billed to proceed to Bukkuyum on Friday, but suspended the Campaign and used the opportunity to condole with the people at the venue.
An Islamic Prayer was offered for the Deceased shortly after Jumma’ at prayer in Bukkuyum, where Governor Matawalle and his entourage were in attendance.
The Governor prayed God grant their Soul Internal rest.
NOA, CBN Take Awareness Campaign To Zamfara Markets, Motor Park, on New Naira Notes
In Zamfara, the National Orientation Agency in collaboration with the Central Bank of Nigeria has taken its awareness Campaign on the redesigned Naira notes and dateline for the old currency to cease circulation to Markets and Motor Parks
The National Orientation Agency says it has deployed two thousand Persons to rural communities across the State to sensitize locals on the new currency notes
The Nigeria’s Apex Bank insists the 31st January dateline stands, and there is no plan to extend as it has been circulated
With barely eleven days to the dateline for the old currency notes to cease circulation as directed by the Central Bank of Nigeria, the National Orientation Agency is taking an awareness Campaign to motor parks, markets and some major roads in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State
The sensitization Campaign is in collaboration with the Central Bank of Nigeria, Gusau Branch
The National Orientation Agency says it has deployed two thousand Persons to rural communities across the 14 LGA’s to create awareness on the redesigned Naira notes and deadline for the cessation in circulation of the old naira notes
Mr. Aminu Ibrahim also denied stories making the round that the dateline for circulation of the old naira notes has been extended
The NOA says rejecting the old currency notes before the end of the dateline is a punishable offence
The old currency that will cease being legal tender by January 31st Includes the N1,000, N500 and N200 notes
But, this Zamfara based meat Seller insists that the federal government should extend the dateline by five months for the people in rural areas
Though the old notes are expected to be out of circulation by January 31st, there is a scarcity of the new notes in circulation as banks keep dispensing old notes to their customers across the country
