Rivers state Governor, Nyesom Wike has met with some governors of the People’s Democratic Party, members of his campaign council and other stakeholders within the party.
This is the first time the group will meet in the aftermath of the PDP presidential primary election won by former vice president Atiku Abubakar.
The agenda of the meeting was not disclosed but it is strongly believed that it is about matters arising since the outcome of the primary election that fractured the party.
A member of the PDP Board of Trustees and North Central Coordinator of the Wike Presidential campaign, Professor Jerry Gana told journalists that the group remains united and would hold more meetings in the coming days as events unfold.
Those at the meeting include Oyo state Governor, Seyi Makinde, Governor of Abia state, Okezie Ikpeazu, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state and Governor of Enugu state, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (among others)*
Others are former governor of Cross River state Donald Duke, former governor of Benue state Gabriel Suswam, former Ondo state governor Olusegun Mimiko, former Bayelsa state governor Seriake Dickson, Ibrahim Idris of Kogi state and former Plateau state governor Jonah Jang
