Chairman of the All Progressives Congress guber primaries committee in Taraba state Lt. General Tukur Buratai has assured all aspirants of fair play as the party conducts fresh primaries today, Friday, February 10, 2023.
Takur Buratai and his team were at the state Independent Electoral Commission Jalingo where they sought for the cooperation of INEC ahead of the party’s primary.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Umar Gajiram said the national headquarters of the commission has directed the state to fully participate in the poll.
He believes that with people of Buratai caliber, APC will conduct acceptable primaries.
Meanwhile, Hon. Yahuza Abubakar has emerged as APC candidate for the Jalingo 1 state House of Assembly in the fresh primaries conducted today.
The Supreme Court had on Wednesday nullified the primary in which Senator Emmanuel Bwacha emerged as the APC governorship candidate.
The conduct of primaries will be held at the Jolly Nyame Stadium in Jalingo, the state capital, according to a letter dated February 2, 2023 signed by the National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu.
