NASENI Trains 100 Youth in Ogun for Industrial Revolution

A total of One hundred youth have benefitted from the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) skill acquisition training and empowerment programme in Ogun State.

The training was on modern methods of Electrical Installations and Maintenance.

These are beneficiaries of NASENI skill acquisition training and empowerment programme selected from different parts of the state.

The Executive Vice Chairman of the body Muhammad Haruna who was represented at the event said the skill development programme was designed to breed competent workforce and to train the youth with modern skills that can prepare them for opportunities in their environment.

He commended the Chairman, Senate Committee on Finance, Solomon Adeola, his colleagues at the 9th Senate and President Muhammadu Buhari for their support for the return of NASENI to the Presidency.

Stakeholders at the event commended the initiative and appealed to NASENI to continue to expand the scope of the training for the benefit of many unemployed Nigerians youths.

They urged beneficiaries to make positive use of the training and the tools provided for them.

The National Vice President of Licensed Electrical Contractors Association of Nigeria, Yinka Akintomide and a representative of the beneficiary said they are enjoying such privilege for the first time and commended the federal Government for the initiative.

Presidential Amnesty Programme Interim Administrator Meets Niger Delta Traditional Rulers

Traditional Rulers in the Niger Delta Region have expressed support for the review and sanitisation of the Presidential Amnesty Programme by Interim Administrator, Major General Barry Ndiomu, retired.

The Monarchs at a meeting in Warri with the Interim Administrator commended the move and warned those petitioning and mudslinging him to desist

The Presidential Amnesty Programme has arguably after 13 years not fully achieved its objectives especially in the area of rehabilitation and reintegration phase.

The programme has been characterised with ghost beneficiaries, huge debt burden, mismanagement, incessant protests, unemployment among others.

These are what the new interim administrator, in the past four months of being on the saddle, is holistically working on to refocus programme

FARMER/HERDER CONFLICT: KANO GOVERNOR INSISTS RANCHING IS SOLUTION.

The Kano State Governor insists Ranching for livestock farmers, is the solution to the perennial conflicts with sedentary farmers.

Governor Ganjuje’s stance was disclosed at a conference in Abuja seeking sustainable solutions to the herder/farmer conflicts that continually threaten food security in the country.

Conflicts between Cattle Herders and Crop Farmers pose a severe challenge to food security in the country.

Thousands have lost their lives and many who survived have been displaced.

Since 2016, reports indicate at least 4000 persons have lost their lives in the perennial conflicts.

To end the conflicts, the Kano State Governor says ranching for livestock production is the way to go.

The Federal Government’s Livestock Transformation Plan has met several challenges including political resistance from state governors.

But this renewed effort, spearheaded by the Kano State Government, is meant to bridge the knowledge gap and get stakeholders on the same page.

Zamfara Anti-Thuggery Operatives Enforces The Collection of Old Naira Notes

Zamfara Anti-Thuggery operatives has threatened to shutdown petrol filling stations, Eateries, Motor parks, Shops and other Businesses who refuse to accept the old Naira Notes in the state

The Commander, Zamfara State Anti-Thuggery Bello Bakyaswa gave the warning when he visited some filling stations, Grain market and other places in Gusau, the state Capital

He says the visit is to monitor those rejecting the old currency notes,which according to him has continued to add to the sufferings Nigerians are passing through since the Introduction of the new currency notes

The threat is coming barely forty eight hours after the State Governor Bello Matawalle ordered the arrest of anyone who refuses to accept the old two hundred, Five hundred and one thousand naira notes before the 15th of Febuary this year

Mr. Matawalle at an event over the weekend in Gusau, Insist that the old Naira Notes remain legal tender and urges traders and other residents to accept the old currency

Zamfara Anti-Thuggery as an agency according to him will not hesitate to arrest any person of cooperate organisations that refuses to accept the old Naira and the law will surely take it’s place
