The nurse who treated the first executive governor of Osun state, late Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke on the day he died, Alfred Aderibigbe has denied giving him injection overdose, as against the autopsy report.
Aderibigbe, a chief nursing officer at a comprehensive health centre, Edun Abon in Ife north local government area of the state , said this while giving his testimony before the coroner inquest into the death of the late politician on Thursday.
While admitting to treating the late senator for leg pain at his Ede country home at around past 4 in the morning on the day of his death, he denied administering all the empty ampules of injections found in his room on him.
Led in evidence by his counsel Lekan Alabi, Aderibigbe claimed that the late senator insisted on overdose, but he tricked him into believing he had granted his wish, while actually giving him normal dosage of drugs in the prescriptions he was shown.
He spoke in Yoruba as he claimed that he could not speak in English.
