Super Eagles coach Gernot Rhor has released the list of 23 players to prosecute the 2019 Africa cup of nations qualifier against South Africa on June 10th in Uyo, Akwa Ibom.
The manager left out captain Mikel Obi, Chelsea star Victor Moses, China-based Odion Ighalo and Brown Ideye.
Also excluded is MFM FC duo of Stephen Odey and Sikiru Olatunbosun.
The German tactician has surprisingly included Zamalek defender Maroof Youssef.
Two NPFL players make the cut- Akwa United top scorer Alhassan Ibrahim and FC Ifeanyiubah goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa.
Teenage sensation, Henry Onyekuru of Eupen, ADO Den Haag defender Tyronne Ebuehi and Wolfsburg forward Victor Osimhen are included.
Other notable names keep their place. Elderson Echiejile, Kelechi Iheanacho, Ogenyi Onazi, Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, William Troost-Ekong, Ahmed Musa and John Ogu.
The list of invited players for the Bafana Bafana game comes before Nigeria’s international friendly with Togo in Paris on Thursday.
Meanwhile, 2014 World Cup star Babatunde Michael has tipped the Eagles for victory against the Hawks on Thursday.
