British Parliament votes in favour of early polls

The UK parliament has voted in favour of Theresa May’s call for an early election.

Labour Party leader, Jeremy Corbyn squared up to Prime Minister Theresa May as parliament got set to authorize May’s call for an early vote.

Corbyn told lawmakers that the public “cannot trust” May and that her party had “broken promises”, and “starved” schools of money, while cutting tax for the rich.

On her part the prime minister said Labour would “bankrupt” the UK and only her own party could ensure a “strong economy” and make a success of Brexit.

Theresa May had called an early vote for June the 8th, three years ahead of the year 2020 for the next general election.
