South Africa’s Kevin Anderson has booked a place in the third round of the Barcelona Tennis Open.
Anderson stunned 13th seed David Ferrer of Spain 6-3, 6-4 to reach the third round of the tourney.
He is joined by Yuichi Sugita of Japan who outlasted French ninth seed Richard Gasquet 4-6, 6-3, 7-6.
Fourth seed Dominic Thiem was clinical in dispatching Britain’s Kyle Edmund from the second round with a 6-1, 6-4 victory.

Thiem will face the winner between Dan Evans and Mischa Zverev in the third round.
