The Bayelsa State Commissioner of Police Asuquo Amba says street protests are not necessary where an alleged crime or any matter of public interest is already under prosecution.
Amba addressed a protesting group in Yenagoa over corruption allegations leveled against George Turnah, a former Special Adviser to the immediate past Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, who was arrested by the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Arrested by the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission on Thursday, May the 25th, George Turnah has not been seen in public since then.
Meanwhile, associates of the embattled kolo-born former special Adviser to the NDDC managing director has described the allegations on social media as false and intended to tar George Turnah with the brush of corruption.
George Turnah is seeking bail and the discharge of an interim order forfeiture in response to an EFCC application to freeze and seize his property.
He is demanding and apology, retraction and payment of 100 million each from Ishaq Salihu of the anti-graft agency zonal Headquarters and one Bodmas Kemepadei, a social media critics.
