The Osun state government has appealed to doctors in the state to bear with government in the face of the current economic challenges.
The state commissioner for health, Dr Rafiu Isamotu made the plea while reacting to a protest staged by members of the Nigeria Medical Association, Osun state branch.
The doctors were protesting the nonpayment of their entitlements.
Led by their chairman, Tokunbo Olajumoke, the doctors want government to also implement the new salary scale for doctors as approved by the federal government.
Commissioner for health who was just sworn in alongside other cabinet members this week said government is challenged by the current economic situation but promised to call a stakeholders meeting where the issues will be thrashed out.
