The Federal Government says it has realised $2 billion as revenue from the operation of the Onne Oil and Gas Free Zone through the Nigerian Ports Authority within the last six years.
The Managing Director of Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority,Umana Okon Umana, made this known at the first session of the Nigeria Business conference held in Lagos.
Umana said free trade zone in developing countries will drive growth in oil and gas,foreign investment, employment and technology.
The Zone was developed by INTELS Nigeria Limited to boost the country’s technological and industrial advancement.
The oil and gas zone serves as hosts to operations in 170 countries.
