The Nigerian government says it will build a $1bn Information Communication and Technology company in the country to boost indigenous technology in Africa.
Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, made this known in Abuja at the 2017 Digital Africa Conference and Exhibition.
He said the government was committed to encouraging the growth of indigenous ICT companies by initiating policies that will help them thrive.
Sunday Echono who represented the Minister of Communications at the occasion said the government was preparing for the Fourth Industrial Revolution being expected globally.
He revealed that a National ICT Park and Exhibition Centre was coming up in Abuja, noting that it would encourage investments in the ICT sector.
