As security operations continue towards securing the release of the kidnapped Lagos school students, the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris says the creeks in the Lagos and Ogun areas are to be flooded with gun boats.
The boats which will come on stream in 2 months time will be manned by marine police operatives.
TVC News correspondent, Sifon Essien reports that the Police Chief will engage the State Governors to ensure that schools are no longer sited near the creeks.
The Police Chief also expressed concerns about the threats and counter threats by socio-cultural groups to evict
people of certain ethnic groups from their homestead.
But 48 hours after the Kaduna State Governor called for the arrest of the members of the Arewa Youth group behind the threat to expel the ethnic Igbos from Northern Nigeria, no arrests have been made.
On the recent armed robbery attack on Banks and the Police Station in Iwo, Osun State, the Police Chief ordered the Commissioners of Police to tighten security at police formations.
