An American Political scientist, Professor Richard Joseph has asked Nigerian leaders to look inward and design the most appropriate form of federalism that best addresses the nation’s peculiar situations.
Professor Joseph disclosed while speaking at a U.S Department of State programme in Lagos.
TVC News Correspondent, Ola Awakan reports that Nigerians have been grappling with decisions bordering on whether the nation should remain a federalised society or be made to return to the defunct regional system of government.
The guest speaker, a Professor of Political Science at Northwestern University from the United States believes Nigerian leaders should be more concerned about providing basic amenities and not siphoning the nation’s wealth.
He said rather than copying other federal states in the world, Nigeria should be re-federalized in a way that it will solve its peculiar problems.
Nigerians look forward to a democratic system that will guarantee a better society for all.
