Katsina state Governor Aminu Bello Masari is set to release a white paper on the report of a Judiciary Commission inquiry which indicted the administration of former governor, Ibrahim Shema of financial misconduct of more than 58 billion naira.
Governor Masari insists that such a large amount of money cannot be said to be missing mistakenly, but is the deliberate action of some individuals.
He stressed that civil servants who have compromised the rules of engagement, will be dealt with accordingly.
Chairman of the Commission of Inquiry, Ado Muhammad disclosed that the commission received thirteen memoranda and commenced public hearing from the 13th day of May 2016, to 1st July 2017.
According to him, 89 cheques of between 9 to 10 million naira were withdrawn on the 28th of May 2015 on the eve of Shema’s departure from office.
While about 15 billion naira was missing at the state road maintenance agency, and ten billion naira could not be accounted for at the state’s Ministry of Environment.
