Britain’s Minister of state for Asia and the Pacific has visited Pan-mun-jom in the Demilitarised zone that divides North and South Korea following the North’s latest short range missile test.
South Korea’s military said the multiple projectiles were launched from the North’s eastern Kangwon province and flew in a north-easterly direction about 250km into the sea.
But the U.S. military’s Pacific Command says the test was a failure with one blowing up almost immediately after launch, and two others failing in flight.
Minister Mark Field had visited South Korea earlier on to discuss threats posed by North Korea to regional and global security, during the annual U.S. and South Korea military drills which also include UK participation.
