It has been one week since the Plateau State House of Assembly’s premises were shut and placed under the authority of the State Police Command.
This followed a division among the lawmakers over who is the rightful speaker of the House.
At a press conference, the Commissioner of Police in the State, Bartholomew Onyenka, told journalists that the house remained sealed and under their control following intelligence of plans to attack the building by sponsored law breakers.

He debunked rumours circulating that the reason for sealing the State Assembly premises was to witch-hunt some lawmakers against others.
