President Donald Trump has lifted shipping restrictions to help fuel and supplies reach the state in what might be a relief for long-suffering Puerto Ricans coping with the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.
Puerto Rico, which gets most of its fuel by ship from the U.S. had pressed for a lifting of the embargo, which limits shipping between coasts to US-flagged vessels.
Most of Puerto Rico lie in ruins and many of its more than 3 million residents have been without electricity, reliable drinking supplies and other basic necessities since the storm struck.
