A Magistrate Court, sitting in Abeokuta has restrained the Caretaker Committee of the People’s Democratic Party in Ogun state, from holding congress, meetings or public assembly likely to cause breach of peace in the state.
This may affect the State Congress of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), scheduled to hold on Saturday.
The Bayo Dayo faction had approached the court to stop the caretaker committee led by Tunde Odanye, from conducting any congresses in Ogun State, claiming it remained the authentic state exco of PDP.
Reacting to the ruling of Magistrate Idowu Olayinka, Dayo claimed that the congress committee from the National headquarters of the party has described the congress held last week Saturday as null and void.
But a member of the Caretaker Committee in the state maintained that the allegations were not true.
