A member of the National Executive Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Issa Aremu has challenged the three arms of government to purge themselves of corrupt elements for Nigeria to move forward.
Aremu threw up the challenge in reaction of the sack of the former secretary to the government of the federation Babachir Lawal.
The labour leader who spoke at the 4th women delegate conference of the National Union of Textile, Garment and Tailor Workers of Nigeria in Ilorin, Kwara state said the two other arms will do well if they follow the Babachir-example by exposing and prosecuting the corrupt ones among them.
Comrade Aremu advised President Mohammadu Buhari to beware of sychophants whom he said only want him to run for a second term so that they can leverage on it for their selfish interest.
He also advocated the strengthening of the Nigerian Pension Commission to take over full pension matters in order to avoid the repeat of the AbdulRasheed Maina saga.
